Kayunga Community Maama Kit Project

In Kayunga, where poverty levels are estimated at a staggering 85%, many families struggle to meet even their most basic needs. Among the most vulnerable are women, particularly adolescent mothers in rural areas, who face dire consequences during childbirth due to the unavailability of essential supplies like mama kits. The region's infant mortality rate stands at a troubling 40 deaths per 100 births, highlighting the urgency of addressing this issue.

Our initiative, established in 2021, is dedicated to alleviating this burden by providing vocational skills to women in the community. By equipping them with these valuable skills, we not only empower them to generate income through the production of mama kits but also significantly reduce their expenses associated with procuring these kits for pregnant mothers in our projects.

The core objective of this project is to enrich the community with knowledge and practical skills that not only improve the quality of life but also serve as a catalyst for boosting household income. As we continue our efforts, we aspire to make a lasting impact, transforming the lives of women and their families in Kayunga and contributing to the broader development of our community.
